Worst songs of the 90s by Rolling Stones

I did my times in the 1990s. I had just finished college in 1992 and well, that dates me. I hit 30 in 2000 and the sad thing is that I don’t remember a lot of these songs on this list. I mean, I know more than half but I am not intimately familiar with them.

Here’s the list:

1. Aqua, “Barbie Girl”

2. Los Del Rio, “Macarena”

3. Billy Ray Cyrus, “Achy Breaky Heart”

4. Vanilla Ice, “Ice Ice Baby”

5. Chumbawamba, “Tubthumping”

6. Hanson, “MMMBop”

7. Celine Dion, “My Heart Will Go On”

8. Baha Men, “Who Let The Dogs Out?”

9. Right Said Fred, “I’m Too Sexy”

10. 4 Non Blondes, “What’s Up?”

Okay, I don’t remember Barbie Girl, Tubthumping, Celine Dion’s song and the 4 Non Blondes song. Big deal? No, but these were apparently huge hits that I had no idea about. That does kinda bother me but I also missed out on the whole Seinfeld thing, having worked a night shift much of the 90s, I didn’t see the show until it was over.

I am worried about what list will come out for the 2000s, as I have no clue what music is like now. I am getting my kids into the Grateful Dead, Springsteen and Arlo Guthrie. I haven’t ever seen any of the reality shows like Idol, Dance with the Stars or Survivor. I didn’t see Lost. I don’t care about Housewives or the Bachelor. Don’t get why Flava Flav has a show and am too cheap to spring for a DVR.

It seems I am becoming a dinosaur in my relatively young age. I don’t have a smart phone, nor do I want one. Don’t want to text and am too cheap to get a plan with texting. And hate Fox News. Wow, I am a child of the 80s. 🙂

  1. I have 5 of those songs on my iPod…LOL!

  2. A lot of those fall into the “so bad they’re good” catagory. I sorta like the 4 Non Blondes song. Seems like there should be more rap on the list.
