Yes, I am tired and I am hoping that Darkness, my friend, will soon be here to wisk me away to Dreamland. It’s been a tough week as the kids aren’t sleeping well. Yes, I know what the books say, let them deal with it, but when you have a youngster who cries out “Daddy” in the middle of the night, who isn’t going to wake up. Ugh. I am tired. More later.

Oh, I remember those days. I hate it when the thing most on your mind is “when can I sleep next?” It’s not a fun way to live, but hopefully it will be very short-term.
I miss my kids being little, but one of the main benefits of teenagers is the sleeping in. Unless we have to be somewhere on the weekend, I let them sleep til they wake up (and they do the same for me, if they get up first) and I must say, it still feels like such a luxury.

Well, he was saying a big blue monster was trying to eat his head. I don’t know what that means but that’s what he said. This morning, he said defiantly, the monster all gone. I am on my fifth cup of coffee.

Wait until he starts coming in your room to get you. My youngest used to grab my big toe and wiggle it until I woke up to deal with what ever crisis he was having.

Oh, we aren’t there yet, thank goodness. No, I just get the crying and the “daddy” over and over again until it dawns on the little guy that I am not there yet. Then, we get a chorus, if you will, of cries and whatnot. Oh, it’s fun, especially at 3 a.m.
I still want to know why a big blue monster would eat his head. I know one thing, no more Cookie Monster for a while.

Yeah, and you better not read “there’s a monster at the end of this book;” you might not get any sleep for awhile. (oh, but I LOVE that book, where Grover is all scared about the monster at the end of the book and it’s him!).

Oh sure, make my life hell by threatening Seaseme Street angst. Like I need that. It’s hard enough to explain to a yo ungin’ why Elmo isn’t on the TV…
And I guess where the wild things are is out for a bit…
On the plus side, he slept all night last night.
