There’s a rumble

In every city, large and small, there is a buzz, a rumble if you will. It might be from the collective patter of feet on the sidewalk or even from the trains roaring several feet below carrying people to and fro.

Not in Peoria. We don’t have a subway.

Yet, there is a buzz and a rumble in this Rust Belt city smack in the middle of Illinois. It’s that of people looking to make a change. Be it the quest for new sidewalks, whining about crime or the joy of a new Big Box store. We got it all in the River City.

I hope to use this little forum over time to just reflect on the wackiness that is Peoria. It’s a city that seems to be in the middle of everything and nothing at the same time. It’s a city that has everything that Chicago and St. Louis have yet residents have such an inferiority complex that they beat every new thing to death before it happens.

So here goes. We’ll see if it works and if not, who cares. At least I can vent.
