The powers that be are finally getting around to trying to sell the museum project to locals. Well, it has only been about seven years too late. It’s a shame really. The museum downtown could have been something, and it still might. You never know. But there could be a bitter taste in the mouths of residents who have apparently grown sick of hearing about the darn thing.
Makes you wonder what would have happened all those years ago if, instead of insisting it was a no brainer, the museum folks decided to go to the masses, talk to them and convince them why it’s a good project. Makes you wonder if it would be open by now.
In the end, it probably doesn’t matter. Politicians are going to pony up the money. It’s a big hole in the middle of downtown. What are they going to do? Say no to the musem’s begging and leave it vacant for another 20 years? No, it’ll go up. Names will go on the side of the building. Egos will be enhanced but in the end, the average person isn’t going to care. It is a shame. The museum is probably going to be one of the best around too. Oh well.
